LOCATION: St. Gabriel
It isn't as though Moxy isn't grateful for her Christmas presents. She is. She's just not thrilled that she has to write a thank-you note for each one by tomorrow . . . or she will not be allowed to fly to Hollywood to attend a star-studdedHollywood bash with the father she hasn't seen in three years. And writing thank-you notes is not something that a world-class Creative Type relishes doing. But it is more than writing thank-you notes that finally prevents Moxy from taking her trip. When her father cancels at the last minute, Moxy is forced to deal with the reality of a situation she doesn't want to accept, and can't change. But, not surprisingly, she rises to the occasion brilliantly.
HARPER, CHARISE MERICLE JUST GRACE
Third-grader Grace Stewart loves cats and making comics, and loathes Sammy Stringer and the fact that she’s known as "Just Grace" because there are four Graces in her class. When her next door neighbor’s cat disappears, Grace wants to help find Crinkles, and is forced to team up with the odious Sammy Stringer. Will she still be able to save the day, or will Sammy Stringer ruin everything?

PENNYPACKER, SARA CLEMENTINE’S LETTER
Clementine can't believe her ears - her beloved teacher, Mr. D'Matz, might be leaving them for the rest of the year to go on a research trip to Egypt! No other teacher has ever understood her impulsiveness, her itch to draw constantly, or her need to play "Beat the Clock" when the day feels too long. And in his place, he's left a substitute with a whole new set of rules that Clementine just can't figure out. The only solution, she decides, is to hatch a plan to get Mr. D'Matz back. If it means ruining her teacher's once-in-a-lifetime chance -- well, it's worth it. Isn't it?
